How to Choose an Ammo Case

Whether you need a 9mm ammo case for the range or an ammo storage box for the closet, a good case keeps rounds dry, organized and secure. Almost every case in this collection is rated IP67, which our product pages define as waterproof to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes. Most come with foam cut for a specific caliber; the 52 and the 58 Ammo Carry Can use a rubber interior instead. Evergreen designs and cuts custom foam inserts in its own Southern California shop.

  • Pistol (9mm ammo case): the 56 holds 100 rounds of 9mm, .40, .45 and similar calibers. The 230 holds 300 rounds of 9mm on two removable foam layers.
  • .223 / 5.56: the 57 holds 100 rounds.
  • Rifle: a 112-round multi-caliber 230, a 96-round 6.5 Creedmoor case and a 20-round 33XC ELR case, plus cases listed for 7mm PRC and .338 Lapua Magnum. Check each listing's caliber details before ordering.
  • Large calibers: the 335 .50 BMG case is listed for 50 rounds; contact us to confirm the .50 AE insert and capacity.
  • Shotgun: 50 rounds of 12 or 20 gauge shells.

Locking and moisture control

For a lockable ammo box, the 56 Pro USA Flag, 57 USA Series and 58 Ammo Carry Can use a three-step keyed Twist Lock latch: the latch seals the O-ring, a hand twist keeps it closed, and a key locks it. Several larger cases add padlock holes or eyelets. For long-term ammo storage, choose a case sold with ARIDZone™, Evergreen's desiccant system, such as the 56 Pro USA, the 230 6.5 Creedmoor or the 430 .338 Lapua Magnum.

Can I lock an ammo box?
Yes. The 56 Pro USA Flag, 57 USA Series and 58 Ammo Carry Can have a keyed Twist Lock latch, and several larger cases have padlock holes or eyelets.
How do I know if my caliber fits?
